Yep, you guessed it… It’s that time of the year.

88 is calling, and believe it or not, we are doing this for the 10th time.
Boy… where did those almost ten years go?

Every year, I’m reminded how special this group is and how grateful I am that all of you are still part of Oliver’s celebration. I really want to thank each and every one of you. Oliver left us with more than memories; he left us with a reason to stay connected, to laugh, to tell stories, to raise a glass, and, above all, to celebrate life properly.

So let’s get ready for another exciting get-together.

This year, no flip-flops, no beach sand, and no pretending we like walking back to the car barefoot…we’re back on Sunset Boulevard.

Our friend Dov at Sushiya (also known at one point as Oliver’s second living room) is hosting us again.

And speaking of Sunset Boulevard, let’s be honest, Oliver would have had his RR parked right up front, his favorite table held like royalty was arriving, and his “talent meter” switched on before the first drink even hit the table. Between the traffic, the outfits, and the parade of pretty girls passing by, he would have leaned back, smiled, and simply declared the evening already a success. 

And this year, we’re doing something extra special.

Since we didn’t have our annual Oktoberfest, I have to say: HOLD THE PRESS. We are bringing a little German comfort food to Sunset Boulevard!!! Mixed with the best of what Sushiya has to offer.

Yes, you heard that right: a German-Sushiya fusion evening.

For those of you craving some real German home cooking, do I need to say more than:

Königsberger Klopse
Rinderrouladen
and my mother’s secret Sauerkraut

combined with sushi, drinks, stories, and the usual unforgettable company!

That combination may sound slightly dangerous, but knowing Oliver, he would probably have called it “fantastic” before ordering another round.

So please, make sure to RSVP this year. That part is important because I actually need to plan the cooking, and German food is not something you casually “wing” for a crowd… especially not when my mother’s Sauerkraut is involved.

Let’s come together again to remember Oliver, celebrate him, laugh about the old stories, create a few new ones, and enjoy an evening full of friendship, food, drinks, and life exactly the way he would have wanted it.

And since the World Cup has apparently decided everyone needs a watering break now, let me be clear: there will be no official watering breaks at this event.
Only unofficial refills.

In the spirit of Charlie Harper, if the question is, “Should we stay for one more drink and one more story?” the answer is obviously:
ONLY if we are doing it properly.
